A Spin through Empty Streets

The flow of Seams' wonderful "Nightcycles" churns with a gentle, dream-inducing sequence. I almost hear the creak of the pedals propelling the chain:

Beautiful and Clean- MySpace?

Beautiful and clean (even tasteful?)- these are descriptions rarely bandied about when discussing MySpace. However, I would hazard just such a description of the following, and it has less to do with progression from MySpace than it does the artist Minotaur Shock.

Have a look see and a big listen. You're going to find a wonderful, slightly foggy, minimal layout on MySpace. Yes, even MySpace.

Next, and more importantly, there is an incredible amount of meat in the music. This is the type that is rewarding on repeated listens. There is jazz there, soundscapes and whimsical electronic grooves with definite pop sensibilities and the occasional progressive guitar and/or string ensemble journey.

Buy the music and chew on it like the cud traversing betwixt the 4 "stomachs" of our bovine friends:

To yours truly dear reader, this has become a classic mix, consisting of melodic, minimal, electronic gems from David Porter, the founder of 8tracks.com.

Gentle & Mysterious Mix

This post is aptly titled because the mix does indeed include "gentle" & "mysterious" offerings. Look for some old ones by Richard Swift, a goodie from M. Ward & one from my favorite Sparklehorse album "It's A Wonderful Life":
